Gift Ideas for Pet Memorial

Through my years of pet sitting, I have seen many clients say "Goodbye" to their beloved pets. It is something that really tugs at my heart, not just because I'm so sad to lose a furry (finned or feathered) friend, but also because I am sad for their humans who are also so very special to me. I am always on the hunt for gifts for my special clients. Here are just a few ideas I have either given or found for future gifts.

1) Pet Memorial Shadow Box: This shadow box is a heartfelt keepsake to preserve the memories of a furry friend. This Shadow box comes with a holder to hang the pet's collar, a paw-print kit, which often times the vet's office will make a paw print keepsake, but it too can be added to the shadow box. The shadow box also comes with a jar to keep a clipping of the fur, and a special sculpture with the choice of a cat or dog. Also included is an ornament that says, "You were my favorite hello," 2 tags for adding the pet's name and a pen to write the names. There is a place to include a special photo of the pet. The box 8.6"x8"6x2" wood with a clear acrylic cover. I love this idea. What a special way to remember a beloved pet.

4) Willow Tree Figurine: Willow Tree figurines always offer heartwarming sentiments with a special suggestion of our critters being with an angel. This particular figurine is 3.5" tall with a sentiment that reads "Offering an embrace of comfort and love." There are other options of Willow Tree angels holding dogs, cats, flowers, etc.

5) Stained Glass Dog Planter: This beautiful planter is 4.6X3x5.15 inches...a sweet piece to honor a beloved pet. The planter could also be used for a candle holder, desktop organizer, and more. There are other dog designs available. This planter is just one example of an idea to memorialize a pet. Any sweet planter with paw prints, dogs, or the like with a little plant in it would be a great gift. I've found plantable seed paper in various shapes that would make a wonderful addition to a planter. I gave seed paper to a client 3 years ago. She still texts me to let me know that seed paper still brings wildflowers during spring. I love it when she texts me as we both share memories of her beloved pet, Skip.

6) Hand-strung Heart Block from Primitives by Kathy: Expressing a sweet sentiment, this would make a wonderful gift for a pet owner who has lost a special pet. The block is 4.5x4.5 inches. Pillows are constructed of super soft suede, a nice quality. Customized gifts take longer to receive, but make memorable gifts for anyone missing their sweet pet.

There are so many gift ideas available for pet owners who have lost their pets. Gifts don't always have to be related to pets. You can always send a flower arrangement, a plant, a coffee mug with flavored coffees, warm, cozy socks...ideas can be endless. The main thing to remember is letting them know you're thinking about them during this sad time.
